Hawthorns Park is a family-run, award-winning holiday park in Lancashire on the edge of Cumbria and the Lake District. For over 35 years, we’ve shaped and cared for Hawthorns as a family – Deryck, Monika and Ashley – with the support of our dedicated small team, with a simple focus on creating a peaceful, owners-only setting to be enjoyed with every visit.
Together, we quietly maintain high standards day-to-day, ensuring Hawthorns remains a place you can feel proud of and look forward to returning to, stay after stay, now and for years to come.

VisitEngland 5 Star Gold Award - 10 Years of Excellence
Receiving the award again in 2026, we are proud to have held the VisitEngland Five Star Gold Award for 10 consecutive years – a reflection of our continued commitment to maintaining the highest standards for our owners and within the holiday park industry.
There are currently only 88 holiday parks in England that hold the VisitEngland Five Star Gold Award, with only a select number maintaining the accolade for a decade or more – placing Hawthorns firmly among a small group recognised for exceptional quality.
VisitEngland’s Gold Award is presented to parks that consistently exceed expectations, recognising the quality of the environment – from thoughtful landscaping, high on-park maintenance and cleanliness, to the standard of service provided by the team.
David Bellamy Award
We are thrilled to have been awarded the David Bellamy Gold Conservation Award for the wildlife that we encourage as part of our caravan site in Lancashire.
David Bellamy Conservation Awards are awarded each year to holiday parks that can demonstrate policies showing active concern for the environment.
Assisted by local nature groups and holidaymakers themselves, David Bellamy looks at virtually every aspect of park management – from the protection of plant and animal habitats to the efficient use of energy and recycling. Helping visitors to understand conservation is also considered an important qualifying feature. Three levels of excellence can be achieved Gold, Silver and Bronze.
Bellamy Bee Award
We are very proud indeed to be an official ‘Honey Bee Friendly Park’.
Bees are a vital part of the British countryside, not only are they beautiful and fascinating creatures, they are one of the most important pollinators of crops and other plants. Our holiday park in the Lake District is proud to be working with The David Bellamy Conservation Award Scheme and the British Beekeepers Association working to conserve Britain’s bees.
