Walking in the Lake District can take many forms from a gentle stroll to a tough hillclimb – all will provide good clean fresh air and a sense of wellbeing. Cycling in The Lakes

The Lake District is made up of bridleways and county lanes that provide amazing cycling routes. Explore on two wheels and you’ll be able to take in so much more of the landscape than you would be able to cover on foot. Cycling in the Lake District has so much variety that all levels of ability will find enjoyment.

Climb a mountain

If you’re looking for more of an extreme challenge take on the Lake District’s famous rugged fells. Scafell Pike is the highest point in England and provides a feeling of euphoria when you are standing at the very top. Alternatively Catbells is a family friendly fell with plenty of routes to reach the 450 metre highpoint. A popular and manageable way to the summit is via the North Ridge and great for dog walking. Helvellyn is the 3rd highest mountain in the country and renowned as one of the greatest walks in England. Getting to the top will definitely keep you fit and give your wellbeing a boost. From the top you can experience spectacular views as far as Scotland on a clear day. Pure magic!
