The area of Lancaster and Morecambe is home to a great selection of annual events. Ranging from the weird and wonderful to great coastal celebrations by the sea. These are long-standing annual events, the likes of which attract crowds from far and wide.

Litfest – Lancaster’s Literature Festival features talks and shows from exciting authors, poets and illustrators.

Wray Scarecrow Festival – one of a kind annual event has been going for over 25 years! The festival features a week of events & activities including maypole dancing and live music performances.

Lancaster Food Festival – each year foodies unite for this culinary celebration.

Highest Point Festival – annual music festival held in Williamson Park, Lancaster.

Vintage Bus Display – a superb display of vintage buses and coaches at the football club and on the Promenade in Morecambe. Take an open top tour for a great way to view the area and coastal views.

Dino Day in Lancaster City Centre – A ROARsome day of fun for all the family in Lancaster featuring a 6ft tall life-like T-rex.

Down by the Riverside Festival – A family music, arts & outdoor theatre festival in Lancaster which takes place in the summer each year.

Catch the Wind Kite Festival – a much-loved annual festival which has become a highlight of Morecambe’s summer calendar. The event attracts attendance figures of around 20,000 people to witness impressive kites of all shapes and sizes being flown on the beach.

Morecambe Music Festival – a fantastic music festival hosted across a range of venues within Morecambe Bay.

Lancaster Music Festival – one of the UK’s largest urban music festivals attracting 50,000 attendees across a number of venues across the city.

Light Up Lancaster Festival – a magical installation of light in the city centre, which normally takes place in early November each year.
