The trail leads you to Arnside, where you can stroll along the promenade, passing pubs. As you loop back to the starting point, you’ll encounter the ruins of Arnside Tower, steeped in 15th-century history. The diverse terrain and captivating scenery make for an engaging walk, though be mindful of potential muddy patches after rainfall. After your hike, rest at JJ Crossfield’s Café & Bar. Chapel-le-Dale – Ingleborough – Horton in Ribblesdale
This route typically takes around 3 hours and 45 minutes to complete. Start your journey from the Old Hill Inn on Low Sleights Road. Nearby layby parking is available just up the road from the pub. The walk begins with a challenging uphill climb towards Ingleborough, which is approximately four kilometres from the starting point. After reaching the peak, the route descends through scenic moorland, offering beautiful views. The walk concludes in Horton-in-Ribblesdale, where you’ll find a car park and a railway station. Just a 6 minute walk from the station is The Crown Hotel, perfect place for enjoying a quick bite after a long day of hiking.
