The Lake District’s stunning natural beauty and outstanding walks make it a great destination for dog walks. Thankfully there are many pubs in the area to provide a comforting place for you and your dog to unwind. If have your four-legged friend in tow, this guide covers some of the best dog friendly Lake District pubs that are well worth a visit. Perfect if you’re looking for a pit stop for refreshment with your dog on warmer day’s.

The majority of the following pubs are a relatively short drive from our dog friendly caravan park. Essential for making sure your dog doesn’t miss out on all the lakes have to offer.

The Drunken Duck Inn, Ambleside

Visit the The Drunken Duck for exceptional views of the Lake District fells. With over 300 years of history, this traditional farmhouse building is one of the highlights of the north lakes with a good selection of locally brewed real ales. Dogs are allowed in the bar only.

The Kings Arms, Hawkshead

The Kings Arms Hotel is a traditional Lakeland Inn situated in Hawkshead who will happily welcome your canine companion into the pub, restaurant and accommodation. A good location to explore the 9,000 acres of Grizedale Forest.

The Dog & Gun, Keswick

Situated in the heart of Keswick town square, the Dog & Gun is one of the oldest dog friendly pubs in the lakes. This traditional pub is known for its legendary Hungarian Goulash and the home of Woof and Bang, an exclusively brewed ale by Keswick Brewery.
