Winter Wonderland
An idyllic image of Christmas time in our beautiful caravan park near the Lake District was deeply important to us this year, in the wake of the rains we’ve had recently. Let us never forget just how stunning the park is, come rain, shine, or snow.
There are times when Hawthorns is a winter wonderland to beat any in the pages of books like The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe – and perhaps we’re old-fashioned, but turning up to work and seeing a vista like this, with the red phone booth standing out from its surroundings, makes us thing of the lamppost on its own in the snow-covered forest of that classic children’s tale.
Winter can really show off the Lakelands to their best effect. But you don’t have to take our word for it, just look at what you can see here.
Our Fine, Feathered Friends
December also marked the culmination of a project here at Hawthorns which is just the start of a new one. We’ve installed two owl boxes in the park, in order to give these beautiful birds a place to live and furnish our guests with a whole new kind of neighbour.
As 2016 unfolds we’re looking forward to meeting our new friends,a nd we’re sure you will be too.
