A busy winter calendar of Christmas events in Lancaster and the Lakes lies ahead this year. Festive activities such as Christmas Markets, ice skating and the carol singing are all taking place. Here’s our guide to some of the Christmas events for 2019.
Lancaster On Ice
We’re delighted to see that following the success of Lancaster on Ice in 2018, the pop-up ice rink will be returning for a second year in 2019. Running every single day except for Christmas Day the event promises to be bigger and better than before. Toast a marshmallow in The Tipi Bar with the family, or head down in the evening for a delicious mulled wine or German beer.

Sing-a-long-with-The Muppet Christmas Carol at The Dukes
Screening at the beautiful setting of Lancaster Priory Church is a special sing-along of the much loved Christmas classic film.

Christmas Fair at Sj John’s Hospice
The annual St John’s Hospice Christmas Fair is great a day of festive fun for the whole family, with all proceeds from the event going go a good cause.

Aladdin: Christmas Panto at The Lancaster Grand Theatre
Last year Lancaster Grand Theatre hosted a dazzling pantomime performance of Robin Hood. This year Footlights will be presenting Aladdin for a magical carpet ride of traditional panto fun.

Light Up Christmas at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary
All are welcome to show support by congregating in front of Royal Lancaster Infirmary to see the Christmas tree light up. Listen to Christmas carols sung by Bowerham School Choir and Santa will be making an appearance.

Christmas at Lancaster Castle 2019
Celebrate Christmas at Lancaster Castle this year with a festive array of market stalls, live music and Santas Grotto. The event is fun for all the family and FREE to enter between 10.30am to 5.00pm.

The Christmas Lunch (Lancaster – Clitheroe)
