For a gorgeously-presented afternoon tea that’s designed for sharing (rather than simply two of each item), The Fizzy Tarte is set in the streets of Bowness-on-Windemere. With a great vibe, jazz playing and heaters on if you choose to sit outside, you can enjoy a selection of cocktails alongside your afternoon tea. This luxurious and quirky setting is fantastic if you’re looking for a modern twist on the traditional classic.

Bryson’s Tea Room
The Lake District is famous for its walks, and if you’re taking part in one that takes you through Keswick then it’s definitely worth stopping at Bryson’s Tea Room. Welcoming customers for almost seventy years, the bakery is a cornerstone of the community and is a much-loved favourite. With everything baked fresh using local ingredients, be sure to try their famous Lakeland Plum Bread when you stop for a spot of tea.

Mae’s Tea Room & Gallery
Set in an old school building in Uldale, Mae’s Tea Room & Gallery has a wonderful, homely atmosphere with huge windows and many original features. Escape from the unpredictable British weather in this arty hideaway and marvel at the views of Skiddaw. If you’re looking for a tea served in a location with character then this is the one for you – and you can even purchase the artwork on display as a sweet memento.

Swallows & Amazons Tearoom
Situated in Bank Ground Farm between Brentwood and Coniston, the Swallows & Amazons Tearoom is a must for any lover of literature and some of the rooms had been used in the 1970s edition of the film. Being off the beaten track, it’s a lovely quiet location that feels secluded and luxurious. The sticky gingerbread cake comes very highly recommended – and you could even enjoy a scoop of ice cream on the side. Very cosy and with breath-taking views, there’s also information around the tearoom that helps you discover more about the area which you can then explore using their bike hire facilities too!

Sharrow Bay
Imagine coming in from a long hike in the mountains around Ullswater to a super-satisfying Afternoon Tea. Renowned for its generous delights, Sharrow Bay has worked over the years to perfectly craft its sweet treats and delicate sandwiches to create something superb. Traditionally elegant, you’ll be able to tuck into homemade open sandwiches, scones (with all the trimmings), cakes and mini desserts – and you can always add a few bubbles if you’re celebrating something special too.

The Midland
Enjoy your Afternoon Tea in style against the backdrop of Morecombe Bay. Surrounded by fabulous lovingly-restored Art Deco architecture and features, you can sample their offering on the Sun Terrace (if the weather is kind) so you can really soak in the majestic beauty of the region. Choose from a variety of infused teas to perfectly complement traditional desserts such as Victoria sponge, scones and fruit tartlets, and of course, if the mood takes you then a glass of Laurent Perrier champagne is a must.
